商品敘述:

The digital revolution is here, rapidly changing business practices and posing a dilemma for executives: how should they formulate strategies in this new business environment? London Business School professor John Stopford says there are two big challenges: understanding the fast-moving digital business environment and then actually developing strategies that work in it. Two new books, he says, provide a useful introduction to these challenges. Adrian Slywotzky and David Morrison's How Digital Is Your Business? offers templates that executives can use to assess how far their companies have advanced toward a digital business design. Success comes from using information instead of physical assets to create value for customers, they say. In From .com to .profit, authors Nick Earle and Peter Keen explain how to grab temporary advantage in a winner-take-all world. Stopford points out that the two books essentially update traditional old-economy strategy agendas. But while the content of strategy hasn't really changed much, Stopford says, the process of creating strategy must change radically. He cites three business trends that are driving changes in the strategy-making process: declining transaction costs, a broader supply of information via the Internet, and the instability of business models.
